How Is Metallic Different From Standard Epoxy?
Standard flake epoxy is a system: base coat, chips, topcoat, predictable result. Metallic is closer to a finishing trade. The pigment has to be worked while the resin is still open, and the window is short. Once it starts to set, whatever pattern is there is the pattern you keep.
That changes what matters when you're hiring. With flake, prep quality is nearly everything. With metallic, prep still matters just as much, and then installer experience matters on top of it. Ask to see photos of floors the actual crew has done, not manufacturer marketing shots.
It also changes durability expectations. The metallic layer sits under a clear topcoat, and that topcoat is what takes wear. On a floor with real traffic we build it with polyaspartic rather than standard polyurethane, which costs more and holds up considerably better against scratching and UV.

Does metallic epoxy get slippery?
